Sushant Singh Rajput’s M.S. Dhoni- The Untold Story BANNED In Pakistan?
The Pakistani artsites-MNS controversy is costing Indian films’ release in the neighbouring country
Looks like the ongoing controversy between MNS and Pakistani artistes is not going to end any time soon. After a turbulent few days, Pakistani actors including Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan have left the country (Fawad And Mahira Are NOT In India, Says MNS, Sept 26). Now, we hear that the entire episode has not gone down well with Pakistani distributors and they are contemplating banning Sushant Singh Rajput’s M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story in Pakistan.
Reportedly, the Pakistani distribution company that was supposed to release the film has cancelled all their plans. In fact, the chairman has said, “Amid current tension between the two countries, we have decided not to release the film.”
This is not the first time that an Indian film has been banned in Pakistan. Earlier, films such as Phantom, Dishoom, My Name is Khan weren’t allowed to release in the country because their content apparently defamed their country. However, this is the first time that a political situation has lead to a film’s ban.
